Support WAYJO!

It can’t be over-stated how much WAYJO (West Australian Youth Jazz Orchestra) brought to my musical education. WAYJO, along with Graeme Lyall (who was responsible for linking the jazz composition/arranging course with WAYJO – so that young writers had a killer band to play their charts) was the training ground for many young writers during my time at WAAPA, and still is today. WAYJO played on my 4th yr recital CD, the biggest recording production I’ve ever put together (although I’m hoping to top that in the next few years – more info soon!):

(You can hear some of their awesome performance skills on my music page).

WAYJO is crowd funding their 30th Anniversary Gala show on September 2oth – the funds raised will help to bring back some of the high-flying alumni who now live overseas, paying for their airfares and accommodation. I recently donated some dosh to assist with their campaign – if you’d like to do the same, you can do so here:

They need to reach their 5k target by August 10th – so lend your support to an awesome initiative 😉
