Enrico Melozzi

Enrico Melozzi

Yesterday I had the privilege of chatting with Italian composer Enrico Melozzi, who has composed music for the WA Ballet’s new production of Pinocchio.

It was fascinating to learn about the production process, along with Enrico’s own experience as a composer/producer in Italy and elsewhere. Not only is Enrico talented at writing music, he knows much of the business of recording it (he has his own studio and record label). He also played me some excerpts from previous works, and one of the things I really like about him is that he is one versatile composer. The ballet music is beautiful – but some of his other stuff is wildly different and just as exciting to listen to!

The ballet is on until 29 September – if you’re in Perth, go check it out!
